Only six months after starting a HACCP consultancy project with C&G International, Foster’s Bakery in Barbados has become certified as HACCP compliant.

The project was funded by the European Union through a Caribbean Export grant. During the 6-month project C&G International consultants worked weekly within the company to ensure all aspects of the stringent food safety requirements were put in place including training, documentation and internal audits.

C&G International Director Cheryl Collymore explained, “When C&G International commit to a HACCP project, we ensure our client will have everything in place to successfully become HACCP certified. We work closely with management and shopfloor operators, so they are fully equipped to understand what is required of them.”

By becoming HACCP certified Foster’s Bakery have not only joined a select group of local manufactures who are HACCP compliant, but most importantly their delicious Barbados Rum Cake will now meet the export requirements of the UK, European and North American markets.

The future is looking bright for Foster’s Bakery, and Food Safety consultants C&G International are proud to have played a part in their continued success.
